What Are YOU Doing To Help Pick-Up Your Sales?

Yes, America seems to be in a Recession.  Yes, costs have increased in just about all areas of business.  Yes, times are tough and yes, your sales have dropped off.  If you agree, what are YOU doing to help pick-up your sales?  If you’re an Operator who has been around a while, you know that you can…

  • Move and/or swap items from one location to another.
  • Increase the amount of equipment in a location, to make it worth your trip.
  • Use “leader” items to help move out slower / older items.

And there’s many other things that you can do to increase your margins.  But, are you doing them?  And, have you asked your A&A Sales Rep what they suggest you do to increase your sales?  I was a Sales Rep for more than 15 years for A&A and I know that the Sales Reps at A&A want to do more than just sell you product.  They want to help you grow your business.  Ask them about ways to increase your sales right now and they will give you great suggestions as well as stories of successful things that other Operators have done to increase their sales.  And if you have some suggestions that you’d like to share with those reading this Blog, please leave a comment.  Hey, we’re all in this together… and, together we can manage through these tough times.

  2. One of the things I am doing is managing my inventory more closely to protect my cash flow. Yes, the recession has touched us a little especially in the winter months each of the last two years, but overall, we’ve come out of it and had good years. Managing the inventory has been a key. Ive been sticking with good sellers that have consistency of sales. Also Im in the process of converting a lot my 2″ to 75 cents and a few dollar items. A & A still has good stuff that you can sell for 50cents too, but the trend I think for me is to convert my mechanisms to sell at higher price points to protect my margins.

  3. What I am doing right now to pick up on sales is what I call piggy backing on a bigger vendor. I go mom and pop vendors that are running routes with soda and snack machines. I ask them if I can place my bulk candy machine next to their machines. They usually never have a problem with it, because soda and pop vendors believe that bulk vending is chump change so they don’t even ask for money. I have located 25 locations like this over the past couple of months and they are doing well. I believe it is because people are cutting back. Why spend a 85 cents to a dollar on some chips or a bag of candy when you can spend 25 cents and get a handful and thats all you really need anyway.
